SONYA Maley, winner of rural woman of the year in Queensland in 2007, is developing new healthy foods from sugarcane. Traditional sugarcane juice is being produced in Queensland from this value added process. Sugarcane juice is known as a replacement for apple concentrate and is used as a thirst quencher in Asian countries.
