AT the Real Food Festival, starting on the 7th May in London, British consumers will be able to taste and buy Mozzarella made from buffalo, children come for free, there will be a water buffalo to sit on, pigs, chicken, seed planting, a roof full of sheep, a cow to milk and butter to churn. Amongst the 400 producers is Laverstock Park Organic Farm, they are now producing mozzarella cheese made from their herd of 1500 water buffalo. The Real Food Festival was started by founder and director Philip Lowery, who was inspired when he visited the Slow Food’s Salone del Gusto in Turin. Seeing thousands of people searching for real food, convinced him to put his money into establishing this Festival in the United Kingdom. The Real Food Festival is in its third year.
