THE Australian’s ‘Food Detective’, Michelle Rowe, investigates food waste from shops and restaurants in Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and Canberra. ‘Detective’ takes the journey with OzHarvest driver Bruce Graffham to watch this simple scheme in action and is horrified at the amount of food that would otherwise be thrown out. In Western Australia, FoodBank has redistributed more than 21 million kilograms of edible food to the people of Western Australia. It supplies 2.5m kg of food that would have gone to landfill and supports more than 650 community agencies and 270 schools.
